Colorado Gators - Alligator Farm & Reptile Park
Famous for its high altitude reptiles, the warm well water not only creates ponds and wetlands for the gators, but also provides outstanding habitat for many water-birds and waterfowl. Initially brought in to dispose of fish-processing waste, these reptiles are framed by snow-capped peaks and make for excellent photo opportunities. The "Two Mile Creek Wildlife Habitat" provides the opportunity to view gators and reptiles in a natural setting, to fish and go boating, and picnicking. Tours are available daily.

Alamosa Chamber of Commerce
The Alamosa County Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1923. This was a time in Alamosa’s history when the growth of this new city would have reached a point where local businesses agreed that banding together and pooling resources for the common good made sense.

UFO Watchtower
The UFO Watchtower is an observation platform, campground, and gift shop north of Hooper, Colorado. The watchtower, which has a 360-degree view of the San Luis Valley, was created by Judy Messoline in May 2000. Since its inception it has received widespread United States and international media coverage.

Saguache, Colorado
Saguache is a Ute Indian name pronounced Sa-watch. It means “Water at the Blue Earth.” Saguache is the northern gateway to the San Luis Valley in South Central Colorado. It sits at an elevation of 7800 feet, surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo mountain range on the east and the San Juan range on the west. Many of the peaks are 14000 feet, a great challenge to climbers.

Alamosa & Monte Vista Wildlife Refuges
The San Luis Valley of south central Colorado sits at a soaring 7800 feet above sea level. The Valley extends over 80 miles from north to south and 50 miles from east to west, with dwarfing mountains in three directions.
Water is the lifeblood of the San Luis Valley. While only an average of 7 inches of precipitation falls per year, the surrounding mountains feed the arid valley with precious surface water, as well as replenish an expansive underground reservoir. All life (human and wild) hangs in the balance of this natural cycle.
A network of federal and private wetlands provide a patchwork of important habitat for over 200 species of migratory birds as well as a plethora of other wildlife.

Zapata Falls
After climbing the dunes on a hot summer day, refresh yourself at spectacular Zapata Falls. South Zapata Creek has powered its way through a rock crevasse, etching and carving the steep stone walls containing the 30 ft. high waterfall. Listen to the melodic cascading waters; feel the chilling spray of the falls;and watch for dippers, dark gray aquatic song birds that feed on water insects.
